Meat Fair In Singapore Features U.S. Beef and Pork

USMEF-Singapore begins conducting a U.S. meat fair at the up-market Japanese supermarket Meidi-ya this week. The fair not only will showcase U.S. fresh beef and pork, but also introduce a wide range of U.S. branded, processed pork products.

Sampling will be done in Japanese-style dishes with U.S. beef and pork. Customers at the two-week long promotion (Sept. 19 – Oct. 2) also will sample spiral ham, gourmet sausages and bacon prepared by the deli-counters at the outlet.

Meidi-ya not only caters to the 50,000 Japanese expatriates living in Singapore, but also has a large following of trend-setting middle-class local consumers, according to ASEAN Director Eric Choon. In addition to in-store sales, the supermarket also features a home-delivery service, which is very popular way with Japanese families living in Singapore.
