Sources in the ASEAN region indicate that Malaysia will be the next nation to lift its influenza-related suspension of U.S. pork and pork products, which has been in effect since May 7. No change in Malaysia’s status has yet been posted in the FSIS Export Library.
It has also been widely reported that Utahhas been added to the list of states on Russia’s pork suspension list. Uzbekistan, which suspended pork imports from the entire United States effective April 21, has also reportedly limited its suspension to uncooked pork from the following states:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas
These changes remain unofficial, however, and have not yet been posted in the Export Library. A complete update on influenza-related suspensions in all markets is available online.
