Lunch with Chinese Pork Buyer Team in Des Moines
When USMEF Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific Joel Haggard and a Nebraska Pork Producer Council team met with Tianjin city officials and members of the meat association earlier this year, they found lively interest in buying U.S. pork products for the port city’s thriving processed meat industry. Tianjin’s processors are closely linked with the port and have the potential to become regular customers.
A team from the Tianjin Meat Association, including several processors who have imported U.S. pork in the past, is sponsoring a lunch next month in Des Moines, Iowa. Tianjin, a port city of 12 million only 60 miles from Beijing, is one of China’s major meat processing centers and a key import center for U.S. frozen meat and poultry into North China.
Members wishing to have lunch with the Tianjin team in Des Moines on Thursday, October 15, should contact Tammy Connolly immediately at 303-623-6328 or tconnolly@usmef.org for more details.
