Korea's Duty-Free Quota for Imported Pork Discussed on Ag of America
Jessica Spreitzer, USMEF director of trade analysis, joined Agriculture of America host Mike Pearson for a discussion of South Korea's decision to open a duty-free quota on imported pork as part of an effort to combat food price inflation.
She explained that U.S. pork already has duty-free access to Korea, so the quota will mainly benefit Canadian, Mexican and Brazilian pork. However, USMEF still views recent trading partner actions that suspend or reduce import duties as a positive trend.
