USMEF We Care Campaign Helps Retailer Seiyu Launch U.S. Beef
The USMEF “We Care” campaign will play a large role as Seiyu, the fifth largest retail chain in Japan, begins carrying U.S. beef starting tomorrow (March 29). Seiyu, primarily owned by Wal-Mart, will use USMEF promotional materials and is making the “We Care” logo a key part of its initial marketing campaign.
“USMEF has been working with Seiyu for several months to start selling U.S. beef,” said Greg Hanes, USMEF Japan director. “Based on our experience in the market and working with other companies to launch U.S. beef, USMEF is supporting this effort by providing insight, promotion materials and information on expected questions from the media.”
U.S. beef will be available at 20 Seiyu stores by March 31. USMEF “We Care” campaign materials help draw consumer attention to U.S. beef and also provide information about U.S. beef producers and their products.
“Getting leading large retail chains to begin carrying U.S. beef has been a key element in our strategy to increase demand from buyers and thus increase supplies available to consumers,” said Hanes. “Now that one of the large national retailers is selling U.S. beef, it adds pressure and incentive on the others to follow.”
USMEF provides insight to retailers on advantages of selling U.S. beef and marketing strategies to help in generating successful consumer response.
