USMEF Holiday Campaign Targets Beef Bowl Consumers
The USMEF “We Care” campaign assuring Japanese consumers of U.S. beef safety is encouraging holiday purchases through advertisements, as reported earlier this week, and by teaming up with an established beef bowl chain to increase sales to consumers who want a quality quick meal on the run or do not cook for themselves.
Zenshoku/Den, a popular quick-food chain in Japan, has been successfully conducting a USMEF Happy Holidays campaign at 64 outlets in the Kansai and Kanto area from Dec 1 to Jan 10. The chain expects to sell 30 metric tons of U.S. beef during the promotion.
“Zenshoku/Den is also one of the chains participating in our new mobile phone and Internet promotion and sweepstakes. So far, responses have been very good,” USMEF Japan Director Greg Hanes said.
The manager of a restaurant in Esaka said customers enjoy eating U.S. beef and most items on the menu utilize U.S. beef. Customers who enjoy U.S. beef receive a gift of appreciation.
