Ruth’s Chris Opens With U.S. Beef Atop Its Menu

The first Ruth’s Chris Steak House opened in Japan this week and is one of the first restaurants to consistently feature U.S. Prime-grade beef. USMEF worked closely with Ruth’s Chris to acquire product and to support the opening of the restaurant.

“The opening of Ruth’s Chris in Japan and their dedication to U.S. beef is a huge testimonial to the quality and taste of the product, while at the same time setting an example to other leading restaurants that nothing beats a great American steak,” said USMEF Japan Director Greg Hanes.

Currently the restaurant serves U.S. beef tenderloin, strip loin, and rib-eye steaks. Additional U.S. beef promotions are planned as the restaurant become more and more established.

The restaurant is operated by the Ko family of Taiwan, which also operates the Ruth’s Chris Steak Houses in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The Ko family said their top priority is creating the highest quality dining experience possible and U.S. beef is one of the main components of that.

Located in the center of Tokyo, the restaurant will be a strong draw for Japanese business people and visitors to the city.
