Japanese Figures Show United States
With More Than Half Of Import Market

Japan’s government reports that in June beef imports totaled 40,050 metric tons (mt), 40.8% less than June, 2001. The United States provided 18,628 mt in June and has a 50.6 percent share of the import market in the first six months (99,747 mt) according to Japanese figures.
