Invitation to U.S. Beef Seminar in South Korea

Published: Mar 16, 2011
Seeing a growing interest in high-end U.S. beef items in the South Korea foodservice and retail sectors, USMEF has developed a U.S. beef seminar for the upcoming Seoul Food and Hotel 2011, scheduled for April 27.

“Our objective is to introduce U.S. beef products in a two-and-a-half hour seminar designed to give U.S. beef packers and processors a platform to explain their products and programs,” said Jihae Yang, USMEF-Korea director. “Seoul Food and Hotel 2011 is an ideal venue, and USMEF is inviting Korean hotel buyers, retailers, distributors and barbecue and other restaurateurs to meet directly with the U.S. representatives.”

The seminar will be held at the trade show at Kintex, the Korea International Exhibition Center. After a brief welcome and overview of the U.S. beef market by Yang, packer participants each will spend about 15 minutes introducing their products. USMEF will provide a simultaneous translation so participants can speak either English or Korean. All beef samples will be displayed at the USMEF booth, one level down from the seminar room. Participating packers must provide samples and pay their own expenses, but USMEF will pay for the costs of the show and the seminar.

USMEF invites applications by March 28, 2011, from packers and processors with U.S. beef products from QSA-approved plants. Samples should arrive in Korea no later than April 11, 2011. For more information, contact Tammy Connolly at tconnolly@usmef.org or (303) 623-6328.
