International Trade Commission Assesses Korean Shipping Prospects

The Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) met with the International Trade Commission (ITC) concerning the growing container availability/vessel space crisis. The ITC is sending representatives to South Korea to assess the opening of that market for U.S. beef, since the market opening will not achieve its full potential if U.S. meat exporters can’t get all their products to Korea.

Meat exporters and carriers will speak on this at the upcoming AgTC Annual Meeting in San Francisco.

The latest update from the AgTC concerns the House Judiciary Committee’s approval yesterday of a bill that would eliminate the railroad industry’s exemption from antitrust law.
