Wood Packing Material Standard Second Phase Begins February 1
The ISPM-15 wood packing material standard for North America will enter the second phase of implementation on February 1, 2006. In the second phase, pallets and crates used for exports to Mexico will need to be marked that they have been treated according to ISPM-15 guidelines. For other wood packing materials, such as dunnage and spools, the implementation date for the standard is July 5, 2006 (Phase 3). Exports to Canada are exempt from the requirement for treatment and official marking.
