AgOTC Says Rail Challenges Aggravate Shipping

Rail challenges continue to aggravate agriculture growers and packers shipping internationally or domestically, the Agriculture Ocean Transportation Coalition (AgOTC) reports. Agriculture shippers have been developing innovative means of aggregating containers in an effort to gain dependable service and avoid congestion closer to ports, but these efforts are unsuccesful when railroads do not provide essential services.

AgOTC is heavily engaged in this subject and is meeting today in Washington, D.C. with other industries facing similar challenges to seek solutions. AgOTC will be discussing rail service issues at its upcoming Ag Shipper workshops. Note that workshop location in Minneapolis has been changed to the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel - Minneapolis South, (952) 835-7800.
