AMS Approval Must Precede Cattle Processing Date To Be Eligible For Export

Eligible boneless beef must be produced under an approved AMS Export Verification (EV) program for Hong Kong. Eligible product must be derived from cattle slaughtered on or after the facility’s AMS approval date. Access this information on the AMS Web site. Also note, dry-aged boneless beef produced under the EV program is eligible, but all other processed beef products are not. For more information, see Export Requirements for Hong Kong in the FSIS Export Library.

Australia

Approved Canadian Pork Establishments Eligible For Export

Australia is allowing pork imported from approved Canadian establishments to be exported from the United States. Casings requirements have been updated to include U.S. origin pork casings processed in a third country and returned to the United States in addition to bovine and ovine casings imported from New Zealand or Australia. For more information, see Export Requirements for Australia in the FSIS Export Library.

Mexico

Veal Does Not Require EV Program, SRM Removal Required For Prepared Products

Veal from animals less than 36 weeks of age is not subject to an Export Verification (EV) program. However, if a facility also handles a non-conforming product, an EV program is required.

For prepared bovine and ovine products, specific risk materials tonsils and small intestine must be removed. For prepared beef products, in addition to the tonsils and small intestines being eliminated, the raw materials of ruminant origin used in the elaboration of the products must not correspond to those specific risk materials (tonsils and small intestine). For more information, see Export Requirements for Mexico in the FSIS Export Library.
