Exporters May Be Eligible for Compensation in Air Cargo Antitrust Settlements
Exporters who utilize air cargo shipping services may be eligible for compensation as settlements are reached in a number of class action lawsuits alleging price-fixing for these services.
Several regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice and the European Commission have been investigating these price-fixing allegations, with guilty pleas being agreed to in a number of cases. Parallel to these criminal investigations, civil actions have also been filed against a number of airfreight service providers.
USMEF is not a participant, nor is USMEF pursuing or receiving any type of compensation in connection with these actions. The purpose of this news bulletin is simply to share this information with USMEF members, who may then determine if they are eligible to participate.
