New Export Forms Go Into Effect March 1
U.S. exporters that ship meat products to the European Union need to be aware of new export forms that go into effect tomorrow, March 1.
FSIS Letterhead Certificate for meat products, “Veterinary Certificate for Meat Products, imported into the European Community,” is to be used as part of an implementation process of a computerized system. Exporters are discouraged from using a “continuation sheet” for EU meat products to avoid any problems. One certificate is required for each HS code. Exporters can refer to online Guidelines for assistance in filling out the form.
FSIS Letterhead Certificate, “Veterinary Certificate for Meat Products, for transit/storage in the European Community,” should also be used. Exporters can refer to online Guidelines for assistance in filling out the form.
For more information, see Export Requirements for the European Union in the FSIS Export Library.
USMEF will continue to update exporters if any issues with the implementation of these forms arise.
