European Union

New Export Certificates In Effect Today, Bulgaria And Romania Versions Unavailable

U.S. exporters shipping meat products to the European Union (EU) must use the new letterhead certificates for meat products and meat products transit/storage. In addition to what USMEF reported yesterday, note English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Netherlands and Polish versions of the new certificates are available in the FSIS Export Library.

Romanian and Bulgarian versions of the new certificates are not available yet so exporters should use the English version when shipping to Romania or Bulgaria. Exporters should work closely with importers to obtain any necessary translations. When FSIS receives the Romanian and Bulgarian translations, they will be posted in the FSIS Export Library.

Also note FSIS Form 9180-27EN; FSIS Form 9180-27 EN/ES/FR/DE/IT/NL (3-22-06); and FSIS Form 9180-EN/PL (07/11/2006) are obsolete. So are the previous letterhead certificates replaced today by the new EU format.

For more information, see the Documentation section of the Export Requirements for the European Union in the FSIS Export Library.
