U.S. Beef Served And Celebrated At Dutch Hilton Hotels, Thanks To USMEF

After partnering with USMEF Europe to conduct successful U.S. beef activities, the Hilton hotel in Amsterdam now features U.S. beef exclusively on its menus.

“We believe the quality of the meat is excellent, and therefore is a unique selling point,” according to executive chef of Hilton Amsterdam. “We want the outstanding quality of U.S. beef to be recognizable to our customers, so we are printing information about U.S. beef and the history of the Hilton quota on our restaurant menus.”

USMEF Europe has been working with Hilton hotels in the Netherlands developing U.S. beef promotional activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Hilton quota for U.S. beef.

The Hilton hotel chain helped establish a quota for high quality U.S. beef to ensure it would be available in its hotels in Europe. The majority of high quality U.S. beef currently imported by the European Union comes in under the Hilton quota.

A U.S. beef lunch at the Hilton Amsterdam last December generated a high level of positive press coverage and was followed in January by a seminar on U.S. beef for 125 chefs in the Netherlands area. USMEF sponsored a U.S. beef recipe manual, featuring U.S. beef recipes created by Hilton chefs from the four Dutch Hilton hotels, given out during the event.

This was followed by U.S. beef month in March as only U.S. beef was served in Hilton’s four Dutch hotels.
