Erin Borror Details Mexico's Tariff Suspensions on Ag of America

Published: May 29, 2022

Erin Borror, USMEF vice president of economic analysis, joins Agriculture of America host Mike Pearson for a discussion of Mexico's recent suspension of import tariffs on pork, beef and poultry. Mexico took this action to combat food price inflation, with products from all eligible suppliers entering at zero duty for one year.

Because Brazilian pork and beef are not eligible, Borror sees the main impact as likely being an influx of European pork and Brazilian poultry. She notes that all U.S. and Canadian meat and poultry already enters Mexico duty-free.
