China Meat Buyers Wrap up U.S. Tour in Lincoln

U.S. suppliers and livestock industry representatives gathered in Lincoln, Neb., Friday, Nov. 20, to meet with a group of seven meat buyers from China. With support from the Pork Checkoff, Beef Checkoff and Market Access Program, USMEF hosted the “Meet the Buyers” event as an opportunity for face-to-face interaction with the buyers and a chance to learn more about their companies’ needs. The buyers represented the following companies:

The Meet the Buyers event followed a Friday morning visit to the Farmland Foods pork plant in Crete, Neb. During their time in the United States, the buyers also toured the JBS beef processing facility in Cactus, Texas, the Seaboard Farms pork processing plant in Guymon, Okla., the National Beef processing facility in Liberal, Kan., and Creekstone Farms Premium Beef headquarters in Arkansas City, Kan. They were accompanied by Donald Song, USMEF senior representative for northern China.
