Electronic Notification Of Meat Shipments Requirements Posted

China’s Administration for Quality Standards, Inspection, and Quarantine (AQSIQ) will require advance e-mail notification of all scheduled shipments. This information will be provided by the exporting establishment. Please refer to Export Notice 2006-4 (Pre-Notification of Export Shipment to China) for details. Also, please note AQSIQ has extended the effective date to March 1, 2007.

The new Chinese requirement has been posted in the FSIS Export Library. You may view a copy of the updated information http://www.fsis.usda.gov/regulations_&_policies/Index_of_Import_Requirements_by_Country/index.asp.  The e-notification must be made before the product is inspected in China; in other words, before it arrives. The information in the e-mail is "Date of Issue of Health Certificate" and "Health Certificate number."
