E-certification For Meat Exports Starts March 1

USMEF reminds U.S. companies exporting meat and poultry to China that e-mail notification to China’s Administration for Quality Standards, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) of scheduled shipments starts March 1 instead of Jan. 1, the original start date. Until March 1, do not send e-mail notification of shipments to AQSIQ.

Starting March 1, export certificate number and export certificate date must be sent by e-mail for all scheduled shipments. Notification messages can cover multiple shipments and certificates. USMEF strongly urges exporters to retain a copy of all e-certification messages sent to AQSIQ for their records once this process begins March 1.

For more information, see Export Notice 2006-5: Pre-Notification of Export Shipments to China.
