Export Requirements For U.S. Pork Exports Posted
The certification requirements for U.S. pork exports to Chile have been posted in the FSIS Library of Export Requirements.
1. Pork and pork products - Raw pork must originate from swine subjected to a trichinae detection program at the time of slaughter. The establishment must also have an acceptable control program to identify and segregate pork found to be trichinae-free. FSIS Form 9060-5 and an accompanying letterhead certificate will not be signed unless the pork tested negative for trichinae. Laboratories used to conduct the analysis must participate in the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) Trichinae Analysis and Laboratory Certification Program. For further information, contact:

USMEF is continuing to work with USDA to alter these requirements to reflect equivalency with FSIS trichinae freezing guidelines. However, it is unclear when a change will be made.
