Check Export Library For Russian Plant Lists, NZ Sheep Meat Requirements

The online FSIS Export Library has updated lists of approved facilities eligible to ship pork and beef products to Russia.

The FSIS requirements for Mexico also have been updated regarding sheep meat from New Zealand as follows:

"For sheep meat derived from New Zealand, a copy of the health certificate issued by New Zealand must accompany the shipments. In addition, the following certification statements must be typed in the ‘Remarks’ section of FSIS Form 9060-5 or placed on an FSIS Letterhead Certificate."  There are five certification statements required along with a statement that "This product was derived from New Zealand." AgTC Writing Letter To Oakland Mayor

The Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) has written a letter to the mayor of Oakland, California, urging him not to follow the example set by the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles in raising fees. Members who wish to sign on to this letter can read it online and find details of how to contact the AgTC in www.USMEF.org’s AgTC section. The AgTC section also contains information on a threatened May 1 one-day strike and responses to fuel surcharges imposed by carriers.
