Caribbean Nine Winning Chefs To See U.S. Restaurant Concepts

Nine Caribbean chefs won the recent USMEF-sponsored Third International Foodservice Competition and now will tour U.S. Sept. 18-26 to experience some of this country’s newest restaurant concepts. The competition required chefs to prove with purchase invoices that the meat used on their menus was from the U.S. and to produce unique consumer-ready recipes that could be prepared at home. The winning chefs will tour restaurants in New York and Northern California, as well as spend two days in class at the Culinary Institute of America in the Napa Valley. On their return, these chefs also serve as ambassadors for the U.S. red meat industry by participating in presentations, seminars and other activities.
