U.S. Beef Can Be Exported To Jamaica

As we reported on Nov. 22, Jamaica has lifted its ban on U.S. beef. The Caribbean island nation’s Ministry of Agriculture's Veterinary Services Division announced it will accept applications for import permits for beef products from the United States. The online FSIS Export Library of Requirements now reflects the change and the particular stipulations made by the Jamaican government. U.S. beef and beef products (bone-in or boneless) destined for Jamaica must be derived from cattle that were slaughtered after March 12, 2004, and exporters are advised to read the complete requirements online.
