No BSE Cases In Three Months And 47,543 Tests
Since June 1, 2004 the USDA has tested 47,543 cattle and found no cases of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). Only two animals tested have produced inconclusive results, and both subsequently were proven negative. Test results are updated online at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/lpa/issues/bse_testing/test_results.html.
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) discontinued its policy of announcing “inconclusive” results from the rapid screening test on August 4.
