New Forms For Pork For Australia

The Food Safety And Inspection Service (FSIS) has informed USMEF that there are now preprinted FSIS export certificates for sending pork to Australia, and exporters need to order the forms and start using them immediately. The forms are FSIS Form 9115-2 for Fresh/Frozen Pork, and FSIS Form 9115-3 for Cooked Pork. These forms will replace the FSIS Letterhead Certificate, but there are no changes in procedure or language. The FSIS has updated the online FSIS Export Library of Requirements with these new forms.

A court decision this summer has not halted U.S. pork exports to Australia. The ruling by the Federal Court of Australia means that U.S. pork shipments en route to Australia and shipments covered under existing import permits may still be landed in Australia. As required prior to this ruling, permit holders must specify the plants they’re potentially using for pork exports to Australia, and these plants must be on the existing FSIS approved list. No new U.S. pork plants will be placed on the list for export to Australia.

New Pork Export Forms Won’t Be Ready Until Late October

Forms for exporting U.S. pork to Russia are being reprinted and will not be available until the end of October. Current export certificates can be used in the meantime. Like the poultry certificate, the pork export form will be a carbon set with a watermark and color. Dual signatures will no longer be required. The Export Newsline will inform members when the forms will be available.
