A major U.S. retailer started selling U.S. beef at its three stores in the Tokyo metropolitan area Wednesday after the Japanese government confirmed Tuesday the safety of the first shipment of U.S. beef since Japan lifted a reinstated import ban over fears of mad cow disease.
