Japanese minister apologizes for not fully inspecting U.S. beef
Japan should have more thoroughly inspected U.S. cattle facilities before easing a ban on American beef last month, Japan's agriculture minister said Monday.

 

Exclusive U.S. beef exports possible

Japanese meat plant inspectors – in the United States to evaluate beef processing and inspection practices – are considering offering agreements with 11 processing plants in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Texas, and California, to export beef to Japan.
