Japan officials arrive in U.S. tue to verify BSE safety
A delegation of Japanese specialists is expected to arrive in the U.S. on Tuesday to verify that U.S. packing plants are employing the proper procedures to protect the U.S. beef supply from mad-cow disease, U.S. Department of Agriculture officials said.

U.S. beef ban set to end on Monday 
The government plans to lift the two-year ban on U.S. beef imports on Monday despite consumers' doubts that U.S. measures can eliminate the risk of meat tainted by mad cow disease.

Taiwan - No U.S. beef timetable
A high-ranking Taiwan Department of Health (DOH) official said Wednesday that the government has no timetable to lift its ban on US beef despite plans to review the ban later this month.
