WHO Lifts Travel Advisory to HK, Guangdong; Civet Cats Likely SARS Source
HONG KONG/TAIPEI (Reuters) - The World Health Organization Friday withdrew its warning against travel to Hong Kong and the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, saying the SARS outbreaks there were under control.
Recent reports from Korea confirm what Australia's growing chilled exports to the market suggest, that chilled beef is catching on in Korea, Meat and Livestock Australia said.

New research predicts that as few as 40 people over the next 80 years could die from variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) from eating beef containing the infective agent for BSE. London researchers from Imperial College published the study in the medical journal BMC Infectious Diseases.

It seems the European Union has softened its ban on genetically modified food and crops. The EU now says it will consider ending the five-year moratorium, if very stringent labelling of gm products is introduced, as well as complete segregation of crops.
