UPDATE 2-China to extend GMO measure, market awaits papers]
China said on Thursday it will extend to April 2004 a measure easing transgenic food imports, but wary traders are awaiting official documents before committing to importing soybeans later this year.
China Extends Interim GMO Import Rules Until April 2004
Wire services this morning are quoting Chinese officials as saying the the interim rules now in place will be extended until April 20, 2004. The rules have already been extended by the Chinese, the most recent time until Sept. 20, 2003.
