WASHINGTON, March 15 (Reuters) - U.S. Sen. Max Baucus, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, said on Monday that Japan's reluctance to resume U.S. beef shipments because of mad cow disease concerns could lead to a bigger trade conflict with Washington.
Aussie beef industry demands apology from U.S. trade ambassador
After United States Trade Ambassador Bob Zoellick told reporters last week that Australian beef was "too stringy" for Japanese consumers, the Cattle Council of Australia is demanding an apology.
