NEW YORK, April 7 (Reuters) - Abbott Laboratories Inc. <ABT.N> on Wednesday said the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved its rapid test for the malformed proteins believed to cause mad cow disease, the third such test approved in the United States.
Comment period ends, USDA deliberates when and how to open the border
The Agriculture Department is expected to soon begin deliberations on when to allow Canadian live and feeder cattle across the border, as the agency's 60-day comment period on the issue ended Wednesday, and officials begin reviewing the submissions.
