Japan launches nationwide probe into origin of Nippon Meat Packers beef
A nationwide probe has been launched into the origin of beef at Nippon Meat Packers Inc, farm ministry officials said.

TOKYO, Aug. 27 Kyodo - The Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Ministry began Tuesday checking all uninspected beef submitted by a subsidiary of Nippon Meat Packers Inc. under a state buyback scheme introduced after the discovery of mad cow disease in Japan last September.
