Despite litigation challenging the continuation of the beef checkoff, a survey shows that 63 percent of cattle producers still support the $1-per-head checkoff program. The survey was conducted for the Cattlemen's Beef Board by Aspen Media and Market Research in Boulder, Colo., and was completed between June 25 and July 10. The semiannual survey of 1,225 producers is demographically representative of U.S. beef, veal and dairy producers.
