Asia Freight-Rates hit 8-yr high, but market wary of SARS
Benchmark panamax dry bulk rates in Asia will likely hover near eight-year highs on expected post-holiday demand, brokers said on Wednesday, but they warned of potential fallout from SARS on the regional economy.

 

Japan: Nippon Meat Expects Profit, Drops Loss Forecast

Nippon Meat Packers Inc. said Wednesday it expects to record a consolidated net profit of 4.4 billion yen in fiscal 2002 ended March 31, a reversal from a loss of 1 billion yen forecast last November.
