Holiday Season Starts With USMEF Media Event

Media in the Philippines got a head start on holiday cuisine Nov. 15 at a cooking event held in cooperation with USMEF, the California Administrative Commission and the Hyatt Hotel and Casino in Manila.

Renowned Chef Hubertus Cramer prepared original recipes melding flavors of U.S. meat and California raisins. Leading media attended the event to offer their readers new and unique recipe ideas for the holiday season.

“We have noted how much Filipinos love to feast and enjoy good food during the Yuletide season,” Cramer said. “These recipes are suggestions for any family or office gathering.”

Cramer prepared U.S. kurobuta pork loin with a California raisin glaze and U.S. Wagyu beef rib-eye marinated in coffee and California raisins. Media tasted the dishes and asked Cramer about his experiences using these high quality U.S. products.

“The United States takes pride in having one of the world’s most efficient systems for meat production, processing and distribution,” USMEF ASEAN Director Eric Choon said. “U.S. meat offers high quality, wholesomeness, consistency, unique taste, tenderness and premium cuts.”

The event was held in the hotel restaurant, the Fire Place , one of Manila’s most trendy and up-market steakhouses.
