Guatemala Lifts All Restrictions On U.S. Beef And Beef Products
Guatemala lifted all restrictions on U.S. beef and beef products, according to the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
Exporters must obtain FSIS Form 9060-5--Meat and Poultry Certificate of Wholesomeness and obtain required signatures on certificates. All required forms and supplementary statements must be signed by a veterinarian (name, degree, DVM or equivalent, and the District Number must be indicated following the signature). For the official requirements, see Export Requirements for Guatemala in the FSIS Export Library.
Since June, Guatemala allowed only boneless beef derived from animals less than 30 months of age and slaughtered after May 1.
Guatemala has imported 205 metric tons (mt) of beef and beef products from the United States through September of this year, down 80 percent from the same period last year.

Switzerland Adds Requirements For All Export Certificates
Switzerland has added additional requirements for all export certificates. All required certificates and supplementary statements must be dated and signed by the same FSIS veterinarian in a color ink other than black.
Effective December 15, all required certificates and supplementary statements must be stamped with the FSIS rubber export stamp indicating the certificate number. The ink must be a color other than black and must be visible on faxed certificates. See "G" under "Documentation Requirements" of the Export Requirements for Switzerland in the FSIS Export Library.
