All States except Florida Officially Removed from Russia Pork Ban; Every State Now Cleared for Beef

Last week USMEF reported that with the removal of New York, Utah and Wisconsin from Russia’s A-H1N1 influenza-related trade suspensions, the suspension of pork exports from Florida was apparently the only portion of the import ban remaining in effect. The status of pork exports from Arizona and California was still unclear, however. While Russia had reported those two states as being eligible to export pork, beef and poultry, no updates for pork had been posted in the FSIS Export Library.

These updates have now been posted, and can be viewed online. With these changes, uncooked pork from Florida is now the only product still officially suspended by Russia for reasons related to A-H1N1 influenza.
