AgTC: WTSA Press Release -- Dry Cargo Rate Increase

The Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) reports that a Westbound Transpacific Stabilization Agreement press release announces a hike in dry cargo rates. The AgTC says that in a time of reduced capacity and tight space, the rate increase “calls into question the ‘benefits’ of the U.S. allowing carriers to collectively meet and set rates and surcharges, with no limit and no oversight as to the impact of these higher rates and diminishing capacity.”
