AgTC Meeting Focuses On Container Shortage

An emergency meeting of the Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) yesterday (April 21) made it clear that the container and vessel space shortage crisis is affecting every region and every agricultural product. The AgTC is now working with the “Wall Street Journal” to bring this crisis situation to the attention of the nation.

The AgTC notes that the European Union is ending its carriers’ antitrust immunity this fall, but U.S. carriers can still collectively set rates and surcharges, agree on vessel capacity and allocate ports among themselves.
