AgTC Conference the Biggest and Maybe the Best
The Agriculture Transportation Coalition’s (AgTC) 23rd Annual Conference was the biggest, and by many reports, the best in its history, according to a bulletin which members can read online. This year's conference chair, Perry Bourne of Tyson's Foods, kicked off the two days with an overview of the shipping environment, and a call to shippers and carriers to work together to address the many significant challenges. The U.S. Meat Export Federation (www.USMEF.org) is the trade association responsible for developing international markets for the U.S. red meat industry. It is funded by USDA; the beef, pork, lamb, corn and soybean checkoff programs, as well as its members representing nine industry sectors: beef/veal producing & feeding, pork producing & feeding, lamb producing & feeding, packing & processing, purveying & trading, oilseeds producing, feedgrains producing, farm organizations and supply & service organizations.
