Agriculture of America: Dean Meyer on Value of Meat Exports to U.S. Grains
USMEF Chair-elect Dean Meyer, a corn, soybean and livestock producer from Rock Rapids, Iowa, joined Agriculture of America host Mike Pearson for a discussion of how red meat exports contribute significantly to the value of U.S. corn and soybeans.
Based on 2021 export data, beef and pork exports accounted for 536.7 million bushels of corn usage, equating to $2.94 billion. Pork exports accounted for 2.36 million mt of soybean meal usage, which equated to $1.3 billion.*
