AgDay Feature on USMEF's 45th Anniversary in Japan

A U.S. red meat industry delegation recently traveled to Japan to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the inaugural USMEF office, which opened in Tokyo in 1977.

AgDay interviews USMEF Chair Mark Swanson, Chair-elect Dean Meyer and President and CEO Dan Halstrom on the key factors driving Japan's demand for U.S. red meat and the importance of the Japanese market to U.S. producers and processors.

The delegation also included Norman Voyles, Cattlemen’s Beef Board chair and beef producer from Martinsville, Ind.; Cattlemen’s Beef Board CEO Greg Hanes; Dan Gattis, Texas Beef Council chair and rancher and attorney from Georgetown, Texas; Molly McAdams, executive vice president of the Texas Beef Council; and Craig Floss, CEO of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board.
