USDA is leading a delegation of 50 ag companies and organizations on a trade mission to Morocco. U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Africa Representative Matt Copeland is participating in the trade mission.

Copeland notes that Morocco is a key trading partner with a free trade agreement and a growing middle class, and that growth in Morocco could trigger expansion in other countries in the region.

USMEF’s participation in the trade mission is made possible through funding from USDA’s Regional Agricultural Promotion Program (RAPP), which is enabling export organizations to expand marketing efforts in emerging markets.

The delegation is being led by USDA Foreign Agricultural Service Administrator Daniel Whitley, who notes the close cooperation between USDA and the organizations that make up the United States Agricultural Export Development Council (USAEDC), including USMEF.

More details on the trade mission to Morocco, including a list of participating companies and organizations, are available in this USDA press release
