U.S. Beef Attracts Interest from Across Globe at Gulfood Show in Dubai

With support from USDA and the Beef Checkoff Program, the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) is promoting U.S. beef at Gulfood in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Gulfood is one of the world’s largest annual food trade shows, attracting prospective buyers not only from the Middle East region, but also from across Africa, Asia and Europe.
USMEF President and CEO Dan Halstrom notes that the UAE is traditionally the highest value market for U.S. beef in the Gulf Region. Exports to the UAE were interrupted in late 2024 and part of last year due to an impasse over halal certification. But with that issue now resolved, he expects avid interest from local buyers attending Gulfood. The event opened Monday, Jan. 26 and runs through Jan. 30.
