Two Iowa farms will be the centerpiece of a U.S. beef marketing campaign in Japan. A video production crew visited Wiese and Sons Hereford Cattle near Manning and Pudenz Cattle, a feedlot near Carroll to show the families and farms behind U.S. beef production for the Journey to American Beef campaign.

Brothers Chance and Shayne Wiese shared the story of their fifth generation farm which has been producing Herefords since 1904. They noted the rare opportunity to be able to communicate directly with Japanese consumers about the quality of U.S. beef and the care that goes into that production.

The Pudenz family cattle feeding business was started in the 1950’s and is now operated by Tim Pudenz and his son Chandler. He talks about how the production sets the quality of U.S. beef apart.

Family farm and ranch operations have been the centerpiece of the Journey to American Beef campaign in Japan, which has previously featured past U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) chairs Steve Hanson and Dean Meyer.
