U.S. Red Meat Exports Impact on Corn and Soy

Corn used for feed to support U.S. red meat exports contributed to 15% of overall corn value in 2022 according to an annual study conducted by World Perspectives, Inc. on behalf of USMEF. On the soy side, exports supported 13% of market value according to the study.

Dave Juday, World Perspectives senior analyst, explains the numbers in this audio report and details the total economic impact of red meat exports for corn and soy growers in 2022.

In 2022, beef and pork exports accounted for 503.4 million bushels of U.S. corn usage for a total economic impact of about $13.9 billion.

Last year pork exports accounted for 89.7 million bushels of U.S. soybean usage for a total economic impact of $8.3 billion.
