President Biden Signs Ocean Shipping Reform Act

On June 16, President Biden signed S.3580, the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 2022. The new law strengthens the Federal Maritime Commission’s authority to enforce rules on demurrage and detention fees and to establish guidelines for reasonable ocean carrier practices.
